JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried is in Jacksonville Tuesday to discuss efforts to improve clean water in Duval County.

Fried is holding a press conference to discuss the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services' recent policy initiatives to protect the environment and improve water quality throughout the state.

The news conference comes after the Florida Department of Health in Duval County last week issued a warning about the presence of harmful blue-green algae blooms in the St. Johns River.

St. Johns Riverkeeper Lisa Rinaman and board member Lisa King will join Fried for the news conference.
