JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- The University of North Florida Ospreys continued their winning ways in the first round of the 2016 Atlantic Sun Men's Basketball Championship tournament Tuesday night.

UNF Arena was electric as the Ospreys defended their Atlantic Sun crown in a 92-69 blowout win over USC Upstate.

The Ospreys traded buckets early on with the Spartans but a plethora of turnovers by the visiting team allowed for the UNF squad to jump ahead midway through the first half. The Ospreys succeeded at building their lead in the second half with 55.2-percent shooting from the field.

Forward Chris Davenport started the game 4-of-6 from the field and finished 8-of-12 for 20 points and eight rebounds. Guard Dallas Moore paced the Ospreys with 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting. Moore also contributed seven assists.

On the Spartans' side, guard Mike Cunningham did all he could to keep the game close, producing 17 points. Guard Deion Homles also provided some offense with 15 points and two assists.

The Ospreys are set to host Florida Gulf Coast University on Thursday at UNF Arena. The Eagles beat Kennesaw State, 74-64, on Tuesday night.
