JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jaguars needed a pass-catching tight end and they got one in free agency.
The team announced the signing of former New York Jets tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins on Thursday.

Seferian-Jenkins was a second-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2014. The Washington alum showed promise during his first two seasons but a DUI charge eventually led to his release in 2016.
The tight end was claimed off waivers by the Jets. In 20 games (12 starts) with New York, Seferian Jenkins caught 60 passes for 467 yards and three touchdowns.
The 6-foot-5, 260-pound tight end has the ability to catch and block, which probably appealed to the Jaguars. Seferian-Jenkins joins a tight end room that also features Marcedes Lewis, Niles Paul, Ben Koyack and James O'Shaughnessy.
