Jaguars Roster Reconstruction: Who stays, who goes at offensive tackle?

Today, we'll focus on the offensive tackle position.

With the offseason underway, the Jaguars have plenty of tough decisions to make. Throughout our daily "Roster Reconstruction" series, we'll take a look at those key decisions at every position. Today, we'll focus on the offensive tackle position.

Editor's Note: This series only features players who were on the active roster or injured reserve last season. Future/reserve players will not be included in this series.

Cam Robinson

Outlook: While he received mixed reviews from critics, Robinson played very well based on the cards he was dealt as a rookie. He was the lone new player on a much-improved starting offensive line last year.

Kaye's Take (Staying or Going?): He is back. Duh.

Jermey Parnell

Outlook: Parnell had probably his best overall year in Jacksonville last season. While he missed action due to a knee injury, he still performed very well when in the lineup.

Kaye's Take (Staying or Going?): Parnell is making mid-range right tackle money, which is around where you'd probably rank his play. That said, when he is healthy, Parnell is well-worth that investment. I think he will return while the team grooms his heir apparent.

Josh Wells

Outlook: Wells made the first four starts of his career this past season. He filled in for Robinson at left tackle and started in place of Parnell for three games. He offered mixed results but played well enough to keep the line afloat during the starters' absences.

Kaye's Take (Staying or Going?): Wells finally has some legit experience under his belt. He has been around for a while and doesn't cost very much, so it's hard to see the Jaguars moving on from him. He may have tougher competition at the swing tackle spot this year.

Josh Walker

Outlook: Walker was used sporadically during his first season with the Jaguars. He is under contract for next season and has some in-game experience.

Kaye's Take (Staying or Going?): At this point, the only reason to move on from Walker is if the Jaguars draft a few offensive linemen. That's a possibility, but I still think Walker makes it to training camp.

William Poehls

Outlook: Poehls was with the Jaguars for all of last season. He has yet to play in an NFL regular season game.

Kaye's Take (Staying or Going?): Despite his lack of usage and experience, the Jaguars saw enough from Poehls in practice to keep him as the 53rd man on the roster. That bodes well for his chances of returning as an exclusive rights free agent.
