Jaguars Friday Notes: Gipson listed as questionable on injury report, Ramsey on Gronk, JAX offense

The Jaguars listed free safety Tashaun Gipson (foot) as questionable heading into the AFC Championship Game.

On Friday, the Jaguars took part in their last practice in Jacksonville before Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots.

Below you'll find notable news, notes and more from the day that was:

- The Jaguars listed free safety Tashaun Gipson (foot) as questionable heading into the AFC Championship Game. Gipson injured his foot during the Jaguars' divisional-round win over the Pittsburgh Steelers last week.

Gipson missed the first two practices of the week. He was a limited participant during Friday's session.

If Gipson can't play on Sunday, second-year safety Jarrod Wilson will start in his place.

- The Patriots listed five players as questionable heading into Sunday's game.

Quarterback Tom Brady (hand), offensive tackle LaAdrian Waddle (knee), defensive tackle Alan Branch (knee) and running backs Mike Gillislee (knee) and Rex Burkhead (knee) will be game-time decisions.

Brady practiced as a limited participant Friday. The Jaguars expect him to play on Sunday.

- The Jaguars defense has been the biggest key to the team's success this season. The offense has surged and stalled on-and-off this season.

Still, the Jaguars defense has trust in the offensive unit.

"We trust them," cornerback Jalen Ramsey said.

"Especially after last week, why would we not trust them? They had our back last week when the narrative throughout the year has been the opposite. They've had our back in a few big games that we've let teams score on us too much and that we still won the game because of them. We've got confidence in them."

- Ramsey also discussed a potential matchup with Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. The defensive back alluded to his role being just at cornerback on the boundary against New England.

However, Ramsey also said he would match up well against Gronkowski because of his skill set.

"He hasn't played a corner like me before," Ramsey said.

- Safety Barry Church (shoulder), running back Leonard Fournette (ankle) and defensive tackle Malik Jackson (ankle) were limited in practice Friday. However, the trio was not listed on the injury status report for the AFC Championship Game.

- Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone on Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's injured hand: "Tommy will play. We know that."
