The Jaguars own seven picks in this year's NFL Draft, which will kick off on Thursday in Arlington, Texas at AT&T Stadium. Jacksonville will look to build on its already impressive roster by adding a few talented prospects.

The Jaguars don't have a lot of on-the-surface needs but adding depth to the group will only make the team better. Jacksonville's first pick in the draft will come with the 29th overall selection, which is tied for the latest initial draft spot in team history.

FUN FACTS

- The Jaguars have never traded out of the first round of the draft.

- The Jaguars' 2018 first-round selection (29) is tied for the latest original first-round pick in franchise history. The team last picked at No. 29 in 2000, selecting wide receiver R. Jay Soward out of USC.

- In the team's 23-year draft history, the Jaguars have selected nine Florida Gators and six Florida State Seminoles. The team has drafted more prospects from the University of Southern California (7) than any other out-of-state college.

- The Jaguars have drafted at least one prospect from an in-state school in every year of general manager Dave Caldwell's tenure:

2013: FIU safety Johnathan Cyprien, UF safety Josh Evans

2014: UCF QB Blake Bortles, Miami guard Brandon Linder, FSU linebacker Telvin Smith, UCF running back Storm Johnson

2015: UF defensive end Dante Fowler, FSU wide receiver Rashad Greene

2016: FSU cornerback Jalen Ramsey

2017: Miami fullback Marquez Williams

- The Jaguars haven't drafted a strong safety since 2013 (Cyprien). Jacksonville hasn't drafted a free safety (Sample) or a tight end (Koyack) since 2015.

- The Jaguars have selected 14 underclassmen during Caldwell's tenure. Prior to the current general manager's arrival, the team had selected just 13 underclassmen in 18 drafts.
