Two people arrested for murder in St. Johns County; shooter not in custody

Two people have been arrested in connection with a murder in St. Johns County.

Two people have been arrested in connection with a murder in St. Johns County.

Officials responded to a Saturday afternoon in an underdeveloped area of Hickory Forrest Road where they found Kahlil Cook, 20, who was shot and later died at a local hospital.

According to the St. Johns Sheriff's Office, Dalton James Faulkner, 23, of Jacksonville, was arrested and is charged with Murder (non-premeditated), Robbery with a Weapon and Tampering with Evidence.

Officers also arrested 17-year-old Sarah Mounir Itani, of Jacksonville who is also charged with Murder (non-premeditated), and Robbery.

However, the Sheriff's Office has said that neither of these suspects physically pulled the trigger that killed Cook.

Detectives have identified a vehicle leaving the area and is believed to be driven by the shooter as he fled the area. The vehicle captured by a surveillance system is a black, four-door Chevrolet “Dually” style pickup truck. Officials are seeking information as to the whereabouts of this vehicle.
