A 79-year-old Crescent City man was hospitalized Tuesday afternoon after his plane crashed in a lake and started to sink.
The Putnam County Sheriff's Office initially responded to the crash, located near 101 Eagles Nest Drive, around 4:30 p.m.
FHP said the pilot, James Goolsby, told first responders he had a hard landing on the water, and as a result, the plane began to sink.
Goolsby was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
