LAKE CITY, Fla. -- A man who police say was high on drugs found himself on the wrong end of a hammer during a fight with a one-armed man.

According to the Lake City Police Department, Jeremy Randolph was belligerent during a fight with his live-in girlfriend early Sunday morning.

Perry Glover saw the fight and tried to break it up just after 3 a.m., according to police. When Glover, who is missing an arm, stepped in to stop the fight, Randolph fought back so Glover grabbed a hammer and hit him several times to get him out of the house, according to police. The blows left Randolph bleeding from his head.

Several witnesses in the area told police that Randolph was "drunk and crazy from the drugs" and that he was the main aggressor.

Randolph was arrested for battery and booked into the Columbia County Detention Center with a $1,000 bond.

The State Attorney's Office will review the case to decide if Glover, 57, will also face battery charges.
