Legacy Restaurant and Bar prepares for Jaguars party ahead of playoff game

First Coast News caught up with John Henderson, AKA Big John, who actually played for the Jags back in 2002.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — On Friday night, Jaguar players were gearing up for Saturday’s game against the Chargers.

First Coast News caught up with John Henderson, AKA Big John, who actually played for the Jags back in 2002.

He was hanging out at Legacy Restaurant & Bar on the Westside. Henderson says the city needs to show up for the Jags.

“Defense and offense coming together as one unit and just playing together and offense is off for 60 minutes... giving 60 minutes of pure fight and that’s what’s going to happen tomorrow… I really believe that,” said Henderson.

He says he’s happy to see the Jags coaching staff taking ownership and leading the team.

Michael Jenkins Jr., one of Legacy Restaurant and Bar owners says Saturday will be a party.

“The party is starting at 8:15 p.m.… free house shots every time the Jaguars score, it’s a fun environment, energetic environment and when the jags when, we just have fun,” said Jenkins Jr.

Jenkins says a win is good for Jacksonville’s economy, and he’s ready for growth.

“When the Jaguars do good, the economics of the city do good and it means we’re growing as a city and progressing as a city,” said Jenkins Jr.

The owners are encouraging people to get inside early because seating is limited.
