JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man was found dead with a gunshot wound in the Brentwood neighborhood Thursday afternoon.
Officers responded to a person injured in the 300 block of Woodbine Street around 3:15 p.m.
A person driving in the area found the victim unresponsive on the side of the road so she called 911, police said.
When emergency responders arrived on scene, they discovered that the victim had a gunshot wound.
Authorities then pronounced the victim deceased.
At this time, JSO has no suspect information and no witnesses have been identified.
Police have identified the victim as a 39-year-old man. Investigators are currently trying to identify the next-of-kin and they are canvassing the area for surveillance, witnesses and evidence, JSO said.
