CLAY COUNTY, Fla.—If you live in evacuation zones A or B in Clay County, you are strongly encouraged to evacuate, county officials said Wednesday.

A local state of emergency has been declared for the county, and due to the area being within the storm's cone of uncertainty - meaning the storm's expected path - evacuations are being encouraged.

If you live along the St. Johns River, next to Doctor's Lake and easternmost on the areas of the tributaries off the St. Johns River and off Doctor's Lake you are strongly encouraged to leave your homes.

Residents of mobile homes and other vulnerable-type housing anywhere in the county should strongly consider leaving their homes as well.

Consider taking shelter either Wednesday or tomorrow.

Expect heavy congestion on roads in Clay County throughout the week into the weekend as residents evacuate.
