Glynn Co. police takes suspended officer into custody without incident

On Monday, Lt. Robert "Corey" Sasser, 41, was arrested after he turned himself into police following an alleged domestic incident in Brunswick, Georgia with his wife last weekend. Thursday, police learned he violated the condition of his bond.

The Glynn County Police Department have taken a troubled lieutenant into custody after they learned that he violated the condition of his bond.

On Monday, Lt. Robert "Corey" Sasser, 41, was arrested after he turned himself into police following an alleged domestic incident in Brunswick, Georgia with his wife last weekend. He was booked on simple battery and criminal trespassing charges.

He was placed on administrative leave.

Thursday, Glynn County Police learned he violated a condition of his bond.

"Sasser has violated the conditions of his release and we are trying to bring him back into custody," the Glynn County Police Chief John Powell told the Brunswick News.

The Brunswick News also reported that police asked law enforcement over radio communications to be on the lookout for Sasser driving his F-150 and warned that he left his house with a gun and that they are concerned with his well-being.

He has since been taken into custody without incident.
