The Tallahassee Police Department arrested nine people Tuesday in connection to the death of a Florida State University student.

On November 3, 2017, Andrew Coffey, a FSU Pi Kappa Phi pledge died following a Greek life party. The State Medical Examiner said his blood alcohol level was .447 during the autopsy, but believed it was higher at .558 at the time of his death; nearly seven times the legal limit to drive.

The Tallahassee Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit began investigating. After reviewing evidence, investigators were able to develop probable cause against nine people in the case.

The nine people were charged with "college hazing-cause injury or death."
