With Hurricane Matthew quickly approaching the Southeast United States, here are some events to keep your mind off of the bad weather.

Friday, Sept. 30

1. Anheuser-Busch Jacksonville Brewery hosts Oktoberfest. The festival begins on Friday, Sept. 30 at 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. and continues on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. There will be genuine German cuisine, brewery tours, beer sampling and more.

Saturday, Oct. 1

2. 3rd Annual #ilovejax Beer Fest will feature locally brewed beer from eight breweries.

The breweries are:

Bold City Brewery

Engine 15 Brewing Company

Intuition Ale Works

Pinglehead Brewing Company

Veterans United Craft Brewery

Zeta Brewing Company

16-ounce-beers are $5 each. The event will be at JAX Chamber (3 Independent Drive) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Intuition's beer will be featured at the #ilovejax Beer Festival. 

3. University of North Florida will be hosting the Guinness World Record for the World's largest water Balloon fight. There will be more than 150,000 balloons and 9,000 participants. Admission is $1, but the proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida.

4. River City Pride Parade starts at 4 pm at the Boone Park. The event should end around 7 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 2

5. Drool at the Pool Dog Plunge event from 2-5 p.m. at the Neptune Park Pool. $2.00 per person (your pup is free) Dogs must stay on a leash. There will be a swimwear contest for the most fashionable pup there! Judging will be at 3:00 on the main pool deck.
