In preparation for the spring, The Home Depot has announced that they will begin hiring 585 associates in the Jacksonville area.
The Home Depot announced on Thursday morning that they are looking to fill positions in sales, cashiering, operations and online order fulfillment. Available positions will include both part-time and seasonal roles at local stores and distribution facilities.
"College students, retirees and veterans are encouraged to apply," The Home Depot stated in the Thursday press release.
In addition to the announcement of a major swing in new hires locally, The Home Depot has announced that they plan to hire a total of 80,000 employees nationwide.
The home improvement retailer is also speeding up the hiring process by launching a 15-minute application that is now available on mobile devices. According to The Home Depot, this has sped things up by as much as 80 percent.
"We want everyone to have an easy and convenient experience with The Home Depot, whether they're shopping with us or applying for a position," said Executive Vice President of Human Resources Tim Crow.
