An accident overnight killed one passenger and left one driver in critical condition on SR 16 and International Golf Parkway.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, the vehicle traveling east on SR 16 attempting to make a left turn entered the pathway of another vehicle. The second vehicle crashed into that car's passenger side around 9 p.m. Sunday.
Inside the second vehicle was Melanie Padgett, 38, who was transported to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead, and Leslie Blodgett, 39, who is in serious condition but being treated at the hospital.
The 18-year-old driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries.
Whether alcohol was a factor for anyone involved is still pending.
