Fans who traveled to Pittsburgh elated after Jaguars bring home a 'W'

"This is the best feeling ever. Duuuvaal. We haven’t been here since '07, baby," screams an elated Kyle Myers right after the Jaguars defeated the Steelers in a 45-42 victory at Heinz Field.

PITTSBURGH, PA -- “This is the best feeling ever. Duuuvaal. We haven’t been here since '07, baby,” screams an elated Kyle Myers right after the Jaguars defeated the Steelers in a 45-42 victory at Heinz Field.

Wearing their teal, black and gold with pride, Jaguars fans came to Pittsburgh on one mission.

Kenny Epps said, “We’re taking a W home today.”

They left Steelers territory with the mission accomplished.

“This is the greatest game I’ve ever witnessed, greatest game I’ve seen the Jags play. Emotionally, it was everywhere ups and downs in the stands,” Logan Alexander said. “I just can’t believe I was in that stadium to witness that and came all the way from Jacksonville. It was a crazy environment and we were outnumbered, but we pulled through. 45 points on the Steelers. I’ll take that any day.”

Fans like Gregory Smith drove 800 miles from Jacksonville to be at Heinz Field, braving temperatures in the teens.

“Can you hear my voice? It’s kind of raspy. That’s two weeks in a row I lost my voice. Last week in Jacksonville and this week in Pittsburgh. It’s been 10 years since we’ve been to playoffs. We’re following this ride all over the world. We’ll be in Boston next week and Minneapolis the week after that,” said Smith.

All around Pittsburgh you could hear the chant. “Duuuuvaaaal!”

“Football is a place where everyone comes together in our city on a Sunday and rallies for the same cause, and it brings us together,” said Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry. “We have all the excitement around being in playoffs, being in playoffs in Pittsburgh against Pittsburgh. There are a lot of Jags fans here. Keep it going. Keep the momentum going.”

The Jaguars head to Boston next Sunday to take on the New England Patriots.

First Coast News will have live team coverage from Pittsburgh and Jacksonville tonight at 11 p.m.
