VILANO BEACH, Fla. — Two men from Jacksonville were arrested and charged with 24 armed vehicle burglaries Wednesday, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said Aneudy Ramon Gutierrez and Josiah Luis Martinez, both 18 years old, were among four suspects who fled a stolen car. At least two more suspects are still on the loose, according to deputies.

Gutierrez and Martinez were arrested after the sheriff's office said a Dodge Journey stolen out of Clay County was located in St. Johns County's Vilano area Wednesday morning.

After an attempted traffic stop, the Dodge was apprehended via stop sticks after it crossed the Vilano Beach bridge.

Once the vehicle was stopped, four suspects got out of the Dodge and fled the scene, deputies said.

As deputies investigated the stolen Dodge, several firearms were found inside. A stolen AR-15 was among the firearms found.

Both Gutierrez and Martinez were later arrested after deputies responded to a report of a stolen 2004 Ford Excursion in the area. The vehicle was stolen after it was reportedly left unlocked with the keys in the center console, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies said Gutierrez and Martinez likely stole the Ford while fleeing the Dodge. During the investigation, deputies said they received numerous phone calls about 24 vehicle burglaries the southeast and northeast districts.

Gutierrez and Martinez are charged with all 24 as well as two counts of firearm theft. The sheriff's office said detectives are continuing to investigate into additional events possibly connected to Gutierrez, Martinez and the remaining two suspects.
