The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says they were driving in an unmarked/undercover vehicle when they observed Rolack walking along the road, gripping a handgun in his pocket. The butt end of the grip was clearly visible, police say.

JSO says they approached Rolack to make contact and when the officers got out of their car, he opened fire. Police say an FBI agent in the vehicle was able to return gunfire.

Rolack fled, but was later found uninjured after an extensive manhunt in the area.

No police officers were injured in this incident.
