JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is responding to a call about a bank robbery in the Fort Caroline area Wednesday afternoon.

JSO said the bank robbery was reported at the Bank of America in the 2700 block of Monument Road.

Authorities said at around 1:59 p.m., a man walked into the bank and demanded money before he took off with an undisclosed amount. The suspect fled by foot and ran into a nearby subdivision, they said.

Customers told authorities the man didn't appear to be armed. He was described to be wearing a black or blue skull cap, dark hoodie and dark sunglasses.

JSO has been searching the nearby area.

No injuries have been reported.

This bank robbery marks the seventh one in Duval County this year.
