A Jacksonville man was arrested Friday after trying to seduce what he thought was a child online earlier this month, deputies say.

Kameron Brennen Ruhe, 24, lives on Kernan Boulevard and reportedly started talking to a detective with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office thinking he was talking to a child, says sheriff's office spokesperson Kevin Kelshaw.

Earlier this month, Special Victims' Unit detectives with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office started looking into those believed to be interested in committing unlawful sexual acts with children.

Ruhe reportedly responded to a detective posing as a child and started talking to who was actually a detective. Ruhe even went so far as a plan a meet up and sent the detective a photo of himself exposing himself, the sheriff's office says.

Detectives got a warrant for Ruhe's arrest on Wednesday and officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office arrested him earlier on Friday.

Ruhe is facing charges of use of computer to seduce, solicit, lure or entice a child or person believe to be a child to commit an unlawful sexual act, transmitting harmful material to a minor, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device, authorities say.

He was booked into the Duval County Jail on a $60,000 bond.
