More art will soon be covering Jacksonville! This time on Edgewood Avenue in Murray Hill.
An artist from New York is currently painting a mural in Murray Hill. It's modeled after the popular comic Calvin and Hobbes. It'll be placed on the side of the gray Bank of America building a few blocks passed the Post-Edgewood intersection.
The artist, known as Jerkface, has been painting murals for three years. And he says he loves it.
"The great thing about it is that because it's so positive and relative to the average person, it is appreciated by a large majority of people," he says.
The Murray Hill Preservation Association is spearheading the project. They've already put up four murals - all painted by local artists. You can find them on Tradewinds Bar on Post, the Murray Hill Public Library on Edgewood, Boot Rack Saloon on Lenox and Grater Goods off Edgewood.
A sixth mural is planned for March by another local artist. If you'd like to help this project, you can donate at this link.
