JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Kameron Holmes, 24, has been arrested for the murder of Bria Kelsey.

Kelsey was found shot dead in the back of Holmes' vehicle on Oct. 29, a single bullet wound to the head, her three-year-old son in the seat beside her, when Holmes was pulled over by police on the 5300 block of Normandy Blvd.

The story Holmes told police at the time, was that a white man in a black vehicle shot her in an unprompted drive-by shooting. However, physical at the evidence at the scene made police consider Holmes as a suspect immediately. He was taken into custody.

Upon questioning, Holmes admitted to being in a fight with Kelsey and shooting her once with the 9mm pistol he had in the driver's side door.

Their three-year-old son was also in the back of the vehicle at the time of the shooting.

JSO gave a press conference at 11:15 a.m. to release all of the information to the public. Police stated that protocol is to release the child to family and to get the Department of Children and Families involved.
