JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- 365 days. That's how long Gloria has been at a shelter.

According to the Jacksonville Humane Society, after spending so many days in a kennel, Gloria became nervous around around other dogs.

"Finding a home for this exuberant, playful pup was becoming a challenge," the shelter wrote.

That is until the perfect pair came along.

But then something wonderful happened. Right before the humane society's Storm Troopers program a woman named Samira walked into the shelter and after discussing her criteria for a dog, shelter employees picked out Gloria.

Oh yeah, Gloria's new father is Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Sheldon Day.

After a quick a sleepover with Shamira, Gloria finally has a home to call her own.
