Homes on the Northside experienced a power outage this morning for at least three hours on the coldest day of the year.

According to JEA's outage map, it appeared as though more than 2,300 homes were without power. However, a spokesperson with JEA said that the number looks more like 500. The issues stemmed from a downed power line and a blown transformer. The power is expected to return around 8 a.m.
