The popular movie chain Cinemark has changed its bag and package policy in hopes to enhance safety.

The change went into effect on Thursday, February 22. Bags or packages that are larger than 12'' by 12'' by 6'' will no longer be allowed into its theaters. The only exception: medical equipment bags and diaper bags.

Cinemark hasn't said if the change is the direct result of the mass school shooting in Parkland, Florida that killed 17 people last week.

These changes will impact Tinseltown on the Southside.
