JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's office is searching for a man who abducted a pizza delivery driver after allegedly luring her to an abandoned home on the west side.

Police say a black male, now identified as Cornelius Ruise III, 32, armed with a rifle and pointed the rifle at the victim and forced her into the trunk of her own vehicle. The suspect told the victim he needed her vehicle to go kill someone in Lake City, Florida.

While driving on I-10 West, near Macclenny, the victim was able to pull the emergency trunk release handle and jump out of the vehicle onto the highway. This occurred in front of several witnesses, police say.

Police believe the suspect may be heading towards Columbia county, traveling in a gray 2007 Mazda MX3 FL tag 794MPY.

A vehicle matching the description of the vehicle was found burned in Baker County, but a positive identification cannot be made due to the extent of the damage to the vehicle.
