Mike Prangley

Meteorologist Mike Prangley brings  a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion to weather forecasting back home here on the First Coast. He knows how quickly our weather can go from sunny to stormy and will never forget the only White Christmas on record that shut down Jacksonville for 3 days in 1989.

Mike joined First Coast News in 2010 and it was a homecoming for him. He was a weather producer here in 1993 and is a graduate of the University of North Florida. Mike gained  forecast experience by attending the Weather U also known as Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, Vermont and finished out his broadcast meteorology degree at Mississippi State.

Mike is the proud husband of Julie who is a Nease High School graduate and father of three daughters that he loves talking about on air. He loves going to area schools and getting kids excited about science and is an avid runner who has completed more than a dozen marathons.

Mike loves to get weather pictures to use in his weather forecasts. Send any great shots you have to weather@firstcoastnews.com.
