SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. -- Shellie Zimmerman, wife of George Zimmerman, was arrested Tuesday afternoon on one count of perjury.

The Seminole County Sheriff's Office was contacted by the Office of State Attorney Angela Corey to let them know that a warrant had been issued for Shellie Zimmerman, 25.

Her husband, George Zimmerman, is facing second degree murder charges in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, 17.

She was arrested and booked into the John E. Polk Correctional Facility around 3:30 p.m., according to a release from the Seminole County Sheriff's Office.

Shellie Zimmerman posted a bond of $1,000 and was out of jail just before 5 p.m.

The State Attorney's Office issued a copy of the capias and said "there will be no further comment about Shellie Zimmerman's arrest at this time."
